CEFIC Methacrylates Sector Group 

The Methacrylates Sector Group comprises all the European Union producers of methacrylic acid (MAA), methyl methacrylate (MMA), ethyl methacrylate (EMA), butyl methacrylate (nBMA and iBMA), 2-ethyl hexyl methacrylate (2-EHMA) and poly-methyl methacrylate (PPMA). It operates within guidelines established by the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) to:

• Represent the interests of the European Methacrylates Industry

• Develop a coordinated approach to health, safety, environment, distribution and technical issues

Note that effective February 2026, due to recent business reorganisations, this structure of MSG is no longer sustainable and the Methacrylates Regulatory and Science Group (MRSG) has been established to ensure continuity of these activities. For More more details.
