Personal Use

In addition to the other personal uses of PMMA in: automobiles (interior & exterior panels, instrument clusters, windshields), mobile phone screens, LCD screens & monitors, tv and video equipment screens, PMMA resin is molded into lenses for eyeglasses and sunglasses and in furniture and design. Some higher methacrylate monomers are used to create soft contact lenses. DVD and compact discs are all manufactured from polymers made with Methacrylic monomers. In addition, methacrylates are used in beauty products.
